A review of an ATU bought recently....
Err, horrible. It looks OK and now its been fettled it works OK.
But it
had these defects;-
1. Neither variable capacitor tuning knob was correctly
attached and would slip on the shaft making for confusing readings. The grub screws were loose.
2. Worse still look at the band
select switch, 5 watts from an FT817D did that on 80m into a full wave loop with
a balun. I know the wattage rating is not the only factor in power rating but come on 5 watts (probably less). A new quality switch resolved it.
Defects dealt with and its now a good un. Only buy if cheap, then check the build quality before you use.
There is
another version of this unit see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c6cOJ6etg8 but it seems that
has issues too. http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/4771
